My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie “Polo” is a 6 y/o boy whose owners needed to find him a new home. He is a chunky 30+ pounds on a 14 -inch frame. Polo tested positive for heart worms and has completed his month of Doxycycline and is in good general health. He will come with the remainder of a year’s supply of Advantage Multi to complete the slow kill treatment.

Polo is crate trained and housebroken with or without a dog door. He has great house manner…his foster Mom says that he is perfect! Polo loves the yard and probably would like a playful companion but does well on his own or with a beagle who is just not interested in playing!

Polo enjoys his walks and is looking forward to cooler weather so he can longer distance and work on getting some of his pounds off. Polo I just a sweet, well-mannered boy who would be perfect for any family…especially for a home with little or no experience with beagles. Polo will make a perfect Starter Dog! 1.
Submit Application

The first step in our adoption process is the completion of our on-line application to adopt. The application can be found on our website.

2.
Approve Application

Go to our website www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org and click on the link "About Adoption." After receiving your application, we will contact you.

3.
Home Check

Once your application is approved, a volunteer will bring the beagle to your home to meet your family and pets, and approve the adoption..

4.
Meet the Pet

You are invited to attend our monthly meet and greets without completing an application, but no adoption can take place before applying.

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is for interested parties to complete the on-line adoption application found on our website. We require an adoption fee ($300 for purebred beagles and coon hounds; $250 for mixes; $200 for special needs or seniors 8 years +; and $350 for pups age 8 mo. or younger) and an adoption contract. ALL dogs will be vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoption!

We typically have meet & greet events on the second Sunday of each month, from noon to 3:00 p.m. and will always bring several of the rescued beagles to that event, so look up the location of the month on our website, and come meet some adorable beagles! We also periodically hold special activities, and occasionally attend Houston-area adoption events which will be listed on our "events" section of our website. Our quarterly newsletter is published on our website at www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org
