Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bess is a 2-3 year old, lab/retriever mix who weighs 58 pounds. Bess was taken to a loud, busy, shelter when her elderly owner could no longer care for her. Bess was so stressed by the environment that staying there was not an option. Thankfully, one of our foster families was willing to save her!
Bess is an energetic, smart and sensitive girl who thrives on stability and routine! She loves to play with her tennis ball and bonds strongly to the people who care for her and likes to have someone around most of the time. Her ideal home would be a calm environment with someone willing to throw her tennis ball around a fenced in yard.
We are so happy that we could help our local shelter, Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center by welcoming Bess into our program. We look forward to finding her a great home where she will be adored for the rest of her life!
Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
