Hello there potential paw parents. My name is Spice and I am a purebred 4 year 8 month old female Shar Pei. I look a little different than most Shar Pei because I have what they call a bear coat. It's the longest of the three different types of Shar Pei coats and is somewhat rare. I am red/golden/orange/chestnut in color and weigh from 26 to 60 lbs. I came from a breeder situation to Golden Paws, and I am very timid with men. I do better with women though. I get along with other dogs, but I do need time to warm up to them. I really like the Hoomans that take care of me here; you know, the ones who feed me and see me on a daily basis. But, that's the way everyone is when they meet new people or go to new places to live, isn't it? Everyone just needs a little time to get used to things. If you're not familiar with Shar Pei,we started out in southern China about 2200 years ago. We were originally bred by peasants for herding, guarding and hunting. We're still noted for our loyalty and bravery. We are also noted for being devoted to our families. This makes us very good watchdogs. So, what do you say? I have been spayed, I've had all my shots, and I'm ready to go. Just fill out an application and come down to meet me. I really think that once you do, you're going to fall in love with me. I hope to see you soon.
Love,
Spice
