My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the lovely, sweet, medium sized, 3 year old GLITTER. This chocolate labrador mix sprinkles happiness and sunshine wherever she goes.
Glitter is playful, smart, good natured, gentle and energetic (But not too energetic..:). She has hiking partner, loves to run but happy to settle for a good cuddle energy. Glitter also loves to play fetch and splash in the kiddie pool. She will be a wonderful companion for someone who likes adventures.

Glitter loves everyone and excitedly wags her tail when she sees you. She has a sparkling personality that warms your heart.

Glitter is smart. She is always in tune with and attentive to her person. She knows a few commands, is treat motivated and learns quickly. We had our trainer do ONE session for leash manners and that is all it took to teach her to walk with a loose leash. Out trainer said “She corrected faster than any of the dogs I have worked with! Thinking she might be good after just today"

Glitter came to the shelter after being hit by a car. She was in a temporary medical foster after receiving surgery for a pelvic and knee fracture. She received loving care and has recovered completely! This precious girl is very resilient! She has not let this difficult experience dull her beautiful spirit.
In the foster home she lived with two other dogs and did well. With careful introductions she may be fine in a home with another dog her size.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer, 501c3 non profit animal rescue group working to save animals from high kill Southern California shelters such as the Camarillo shelter. We give abandoned animals a safe permanent home through networking, adoption events and transporting animals to reputable 501c3 rescues. We have a strong focus on the most at risk for death row breeds; pit bulls and chihuahas. We advocate for animal welfare, affordable spay and neuter programs and ending backyard breeding. Through community education we hope to restore the positive image of the American Pit Bull Terrier as the loving family dog it truly is. We depend completely on charitable donations to support our work. Donations are needed to cover pull fees to get animals out of the shelter, temporary boarding fees, transport and vet costs. We support the NO KILL platform and dream of the day when all shelters will be NO KILL.
