Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PETIE AND RILEY BONDED SENIOR PAIR ~~ Jack Russell Terrier, Neutered Males, White and Brown, 12 pounds, AGE: Riley 14 ~~ Petie 18.
Petie and Riley are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They are senior pets and are looking for a quiet, safe and loving place to retire and live out the rest of their days. Their former family moved out of their home and left them outside and alone in the backyard with no one to care for them. A kind neighbor provided food and care for TWO MONTHS, in the hope the family would return to claim them. Although the neighbor reached out to the family several times, they never responded or come back for their fur babies. The neighbor was unable to care for them any longer, we took them in, provided vet care and lots of love. They were heartbroken at first, but have adjusted to life at our clinic. However, they deserve and need a real home and a real family…good and kind people that will love and take care of them. Together. Can you take them in?
Riley does not have any teeth and eats wet food. He has some lipomas (fatty growths) on him, which do not hurt and do not seem to bother him in the least. At his age, anesthesia is not advised. He has a negative heartworm and fecal and is up to date on vaccines and vet services.
Petie had a recent dental cleaning, has a negative heartworm test and fecal, and is also up to date on vaccines and vet services.
Anyone who loves the breed will love these sweet guys! They are friendly, alert and lively, still a little bit nervous, inquisitive, pretty good on the leash and are working at remembering how to be housebroken. In a kennel environment, especially after living outdoors for an extended time period, manners can be forgotten. A little training and they should be good as new again. And, if you have a doggy door, even better! We just ask that they be kept as indoor dogs!
If there are other pets in the home, we always suggest a meeting beforehand to ensure a smooth transition and to make sure everyone gets along. We do not know how they are with other pets or children.
Since they are truly a special case, the adoption fee for both pets is $50. And, anyone who takes in both of these sweet boys will receive 10% off all future vet services, food, medicine, and everything they need for the remainder of their lives (if they are brought back to us at Crabapple Knoll).
Do you have space in your heart and home for sweet little Petie and Riley? If so, come and meet them today and change their lives forever! Crabapple Knoll Vet Clinic, 12604 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta, GA. 770.475.8272. Weekdays 630AM to 7PM. Saturday and Sunday 8AM to 4PM. Closed on all major holidays.
