My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BREE ~~ Spayed Female, Pitbull Mix, Brindle and White, 53 pounds, DOB: 12/15/2022.

This little girl is precious and does not know what a stranger is! Come and meet her for yourself and give her an amazing new life with you.

FUN FACTS ABOUT ME: This beautiful Pitty Mix loves people and makes you feel like you are the only person in the room. Her tail is in constant motion, and she always seems to be smiling! Bree is a very happy girl and so full of life.

LIKES: She is obsessed with toys and loves to chase balls, chew on her Nylabones, but isn't really a fan of soft or squeaky toys. She does well on the leash and enjoys going for walks and on adventures. She is food and treat motivated and very smart and has learned a few commands.

DISLIKES: Bree will NOT do well in a home with cats or small animals.

ENERGY LEVEL: Bree is playful in spurts then goes into snooze mode. She’s snuggly and would enjoy a fenced backyard to play in. She would love to impress you with what she knows and to learn some new tricks!

HOW IS SHE WITH DOGS AND KIDS? Bree may do well around other calm and non-reactive dogs who are similar in size to her. As always, if there are other dogs in the household, we recommend a slow and controlled introduction. And, if you have another dog, please bring them to the Clinic to meet Bree if you are interested in making her part of your family. Our kennel staff will work with you to introduce them and determine if it’s a good match. Bree will do best in a home with older children, rather than toddlers, as she loves to jump up and say hi and greet everyone she meets. Some little kids may find this behavior scary.

MEDICAL: Bree is healthy, spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and vet services and will come home with one month of Simparica Trio (for heartworms, fleas, ticks and intestinal parasites).

ADOPTION FEE: $65. Her adoption fee includes one month of Simparica Trio (for heartworms, fleas, ticks and intestinal parasites). We are offering ½ off all adoption fees for pets over 1 year of age to welcome Spring!

Additional adoption info

Our goal is to find good homes for all of the sick and injured pets we have, and to adopt them out in the best health possible. Each pet is fully vetted and cared for by our amazing Veterinary Staff! Our adoption fee is $130, which includes a spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccines, and a microchip. We offer a two week trial period, during which time you may return the pet for a full refund if the placement does not work out. We will accept a pet back after two weeks, but no refund will be issued. If a pet is returned after a longer time period we may require a $130 relinquishment fee. We do not perform home visits or have any particular adoption requirements, such as fenced yard. We do, however, reserve the right to turn down potential adopters if we feel like it will not be in the best interest of the pet.

Go meet their pets

Our Clinic is located at 12604 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta, Georgia 30004. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:30AM to 7:00PM and Saturday-Sunday 8AM to 4PM. We have a few adoption events at the Clinic each year. All of our adoptable pets may be visited at the Clinic at any time. However, if a pet is labeled as being fostered, please call ahead so we can arrange to have the pet available for you.

More about this rescue

Our Stray Program began in 1988, with one dog named Redman. He was rescued by a client who indicated that he had belonged to a homeless man. The man had since disappeared, and the red Chow was ill and now living on his own. We brought him to our Clinic and named him Redman. He tested heartworm positive, was treated for that condition and was also neutered. One of our Veterinarians fell in love and adopted him. Unfortunately, Redman did not live long due to heartworm disease, but enjoyed several great years with his new owner. It was because of Redman that our Stray Program for sick and injured animals came to fruition. We began a fund to support the Program and, since then, have found many sick and injured pets their forever homes! Thanks to Dr. Joe Gaston, we are able to continue our work to help sick and injured strays, and have the opportunity to give back to our pet community!
