Tony is a smart, affectionate, and cuddly 6-year old dog who boasts complete mastery of all critical house dog skills (potty training, chewing only on his own toys , staying off furniture unless invited, not humping throw pillows, getting baths, etc.). He is a fantastic work from home companion as he is content to nap and sunbathe all day, but also loves hiking and car rides. He is very eager to please and loves training sessions! He is practicing his repertoire of obedience commands and tricks every day. Overall he is an excellent loose leash walking companion but Tony has exhibited behaviors that indicate he has experienced abuse in his past, such as pulling on the leash to get away from uncomfortable situations and cowering if corrected. Being smart and eager, he is well on his way to overcoming his fears but needs an adopter who can manage a large strong dog and will be dedicated to helping him continue this journey. Tony prefers humans but appreciates the company of respectful adult dogs and would do best in a home without young children. He is currently unsure about being left home alone but working hard to develop this skill as well.
