My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elsie is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian. We have a very large yard, but she needs more space to run or an electric fence because she is very good at escaping if able. Loves kids of all ages, lives with 3 other dogs and 4 cats and they all get along wonderfully. Walks pretty well on a leash. She’s soft and fluffy and loves to cuddle. Very goofy and talkative. Needs work on house training or the ability to be outside more often.I rescued her 7 months ago and she was beaten and starved. She’s healthy and happy, but does get easily spooked still. She really is a great dog and I hate that I’m not the home she needs. Additional adoption info

Please come in and visit with our pets available for adoption. Once you find an animal you would like to adopt, you will be asked to fill out an adoption survey and meet with an adoption counselor. We do require landlord approval and we do not adopt out animals to live completely outside. Our adoption fees are $75 for dogs and cats under 5 years old and $55 for those 5 years and older.

More about this shelter

The shelter has very active volunteer and foster programs. Volunteers walk dogs and help with cat care. Fosters take young, shy and injured animals into their homes to prepare them for adoption. Learn more on our website and consider getting involved today!
