Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If there was ever a little dog that pulled on my heartstrings, this little guy is it. He is available for adoption but he deserves the BEST home possible so only apply if you are willing to give it to him.
Domino was found as a stray. He had an eye that needed to be removed, he had teeth so loose some of them fell out just by eating dry food, and he is heartworm positive. But when we tracked down his microchip number we located his breeder and found out he is only 6 years old. He has been through a lot in those 6 years.
He has had surgery to remove the eye, and he is doing great. He also had a dental service and all the loose teeth have been removed. What we can't believe is what a sweet, loving little boy he is. He loves people and wags his tail when he sees you. He loves to snuggle and be held.
Domino does get frightened of certain noises and would not do well in a home with young children. He needs a home where his person is home all day. Domino is HW+ and we will pay for the treatment, but his new family will need to be sure to keep him calm and quiet during the treatment.
Domino just deserves to be in a home where he will be loved and spoiled. He seems to get along with other dogs. He is not housebroken but will wear a belly band while you are training him. He will go into his crate on his own and is learning to play with toys.
Domino is a Shih-Tzu so he may end up with some of the typical Shih-Tzu issues like dry eye, ear infections and skin allergies. He will also need grooming, which can be expensive. Be sure you are willing to work with some of these issues if you apply.
Our application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org. He is located in Williamsburg, Va.
