My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ROSS ~~ Boxer Mix, Fawn and White, Neutered Male, 68 pounds, DOB: 12/27/2021

Are you a one dog person looking for that one special dog? Come and meet Ross and see if he checks off all the boxes. He is looking for his person.... basically, someone that "gets him." Come meet Ross to see if that's you!

FUN FACTS: Ross is smart, playful, and very curious about his surroundings. He likes learning new things and would do best with an active couple or family with older kids. Since he could use some basic leash and obedience training (nobody's perfect, after all), he may not be the best candidate around younger kids ~~ he tends to jump up in excitement.

ENERGY LEVEL: Ross is a high energy guy who would love his own fenced backyard to run around and play in. Do you have some cool toys or maybe even a pool, like to go for hikes or go running? Even better! Ross is food and treat motivated and will thrive in the right hands.

OTHER PETS: Ross will need to be the only pet in the home. He does not get along with other pets and wants all the attention for himself. He is looking for an exclusive relationship with his people.

ADOPTION FEE/HEALTH: $65. His adoption fee includes one month of Simparica Trio (for heartworms, fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites). He's up to date on vet services, vaccines and is microchipped. We’re offering ½ off all adoption fees for pets one year and older to welcome Spring!

Additional adoption info

Our goal is to find good homes for all of the sick and injured pets we have, and to adopt them out in the best health possible. Each pet is fully vetted and cared for by our amazing Veterinary Staff! Our adoption fee is $130, which includes a spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccines, and a microchip. We offer a two week trial period, during which time you may return the pet for a full refund if the placement does not work out. We will accept a pet back after two weeks, but no refund will be issued. If a pet is returned after a longer time period we may require a $130 relinquishment fee. We do not perform home visits or have any particular adoption requirements, such as fenced yard. We do, however, reserve the right to turn down potential adopters if we feel like it will not be in the best interest of the pet.

Go meet their pets

Our Clinic is located at 12604 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta, Georgia 30004. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:30AM to 7:00PM and Saturday-Sunday 8AM to 4PM. We have a few adoption events at the Clinic each year. All of our adoptable pets may be visited at the Clinic at any time. However, if a pet is labeled as being fostered, please call ahead so we can arrange to have the pet available for you.

More about this rescue

Our Stray Program began in 1988, with one dog named Redman. He was rescued by a client who indicated that he had belonged to a homeless man. The man had since disappeared, and the red Chow was ill and now living on his own. We brought him to our Clinic and named him Redman. He tested heartworm positive, was treated for that condition and was also neutered. One of our Veterinarians fell in love and adopted him. Unfortunately, Redman did not live long due to heartworm disease, but enjoyed several great years with his new owner. It was because of Redman that our Stray Program for sick and injured animals came to fruition. We began a fund to support the Program and, since then, have found many sick and injured pets their forever homes! Thanks to Dr. Joe Gaston, we are able to continue our work to help sick and injured strays, and have the opportunity to give back to our pet community!
