My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Abby and Peanut, a mama/kitten duo that are very loving and very close to one another. Abby (the mama) had her kittens when she was just 11 months old, and she is now just shy of 2 years old. She was/is an amazing mom despite a few setbacks (losing her human, moving with new kittens, etc.) and took meticulous care of all three little ones.

She was very trusting of her foster mom from the start and the family dog, a golden retriever. She and the kittens had all of their required vet care on schedule and are up to date on all vaccines. They’ve also been fixed.

The foster family is keeping two of the three kittens but cannot keep all four cats in the space they are in. Thus, Abby and Peanut need a forever home. They are indoor cats and get along well with the resident dog and children.

We would love to see Abby and Peanut adopted as a pair because they are quite bonded and they would provide each other with much comfort and companionship in a new situation. They are also very close in age. Peanut is a sweet little soul and is very affectionate once she is comfortable with her person. Once trust is established, she will seek out companionship and be a lovely, warm presence. Both of them will at first be afraid of new people, but will come out and connect once feeling safe. They are playful, curious, affectionate, and great company. They have been well-loved at every turn by their foster family.

A little more about each….

Abby:
Abby is a two-year old sweetheart who is mom to Peanut. She had Peanut when she herself was so young, so the two of them are in many ways like siblings. Abby still cleans Peanut and comes to check on her if she’s in distress. Abby is very attuned to people and other beings. If someone in the house is sick or upset, she’ll come to them and try to help. Often she’ll nestle near her current family's heads on the back of the couch to keep a close eye on them. She’s very comfortable, even affectionate and maternal, with the golden retriever. She is a very sweet and well-adjusted cat.

Peanut:
Peanut is a sweet, affectionate kitty. She was the runt of the litter but now is stronger, sleeker, and more elegant than any of them. She is very playful and warm-hearted. She is skittish at first but then will warm up with time. She is just a wonderful companion. Because she is quite connected with her mom and vice versa, we hope they can be adopted out as a pair.
