My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BAMBI is a 5-6 month old shepherd/pit mix puppy. She is a happy, charming, joyful little girl. She has a great gift for making friends with everyone human or dog.
Bambi lives in her foster home with a big pack of dogs and even the grumpiest ones like to play with her.
She also is loved by every human she meets. She connects with everyone so easily and authentically! Her big smile reflects her big loving heart.

Bambi will be a smaller girl when she grows up…probably around 40-45 lbs. She has moderate energy, for a pup. She loves to play and dances when she walks. But she loves to cuddle on the couch with foster dad too.

Bambi’s ideal home would be with other dogs and a loving family that includes children. The more the merrier for Bambi! She would love a yard to play with her dog friends in and to roll in the grass. She would appreciate a family that will give her some leash training as she doesn’t know that much so far.
But she is very smart and learns quickly.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer, 501c3 non profit animal rescue group working to save animals from high kill Southern California shelters such as the Camarillo shelter. We give abandoned animals a safe permanent home through networking, adoption events and transporting animals to reputable 501c3 rescues. We have a strong focus on the most at risk for death row breeds; pit bulls and chihuahas. We advocate for animal welfare, affordable spay and neuter programs and ending backyard breeding. Through community education we hope to restore the positive image of the American Pit Bull Terrier as the loving family dog it truly is. We depend completely on charitable donations to support our work. Donations are needed to cover pull fees to get animals out of the shelter, temporary boarding fees, transport and vet costs. We support the NO KILL platform and dream of the day when all shelters will be NO KILL.
