My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Duke, a 2-year-old Lab mix! I'm a bundle of energy, always ready for a game of fetch or a good run. My friends here say I'm friendly and brave, and I sure do love to make new pals. I'm always up for a good belly rub or a treat, but I'm also quite content to lay at your feet after a day full of fun. I do best with older kids who can keep up with my energy. I'm not just all play though, I'm also a loyal companion, always ready to stand by your side. Adopt me, and let's make countless memories together!

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri is to aid in the alleviation of distress and suffering of animals by operating a shelter in need of care, placing animals in suitable homes, and offering educational programs that promote animal welfare.

We receive our animals from people giving up their pets for a variety of reasons, including changes in family situations and moving. Some of our animals have been strays rescued from the streets by a kind citizen, but all of our animals are looking for permanent, loving forever homes.
