Hi, my name is Zeke!! Aren’t I just the most handsome, beautiful merle Aussie you have ever seen? I am 4 years old and lived my whole life in a small pen outside. My owner didn’t take good care of me, so a neighbor stepped in to care for me, and helped me find my way to rescue!
I love my foster home and foster siblings, where I am free to run in the house and have time outside in the yard, playing in the sprinkler (I LOVE WATER) and playing with my foster siblings. I love other dogs and every person I have ever met!! I have also learned to play tug and fetch, my favorite games!!
I love to supervise my mom outside when she is gardening. I lay close by in case she wants to play a game of fetch! I do love to play and am busy, but I do have an off switch, will relax, and crawl in your lap if allowed.
I don’t care much for my crate, after living 4 years in a pen, and never out of it, but my foster mom feeds me in, and I get special treats when I do go in my crate. I am getting better but prefer to be free to follow foster mom everywhere. The outside world is so big and interesting, I don’t want to miss anything new!!
Mom is teaching me to stay inside and wait when she opens a door to the outside. We are working really hard with the wait signal, and I am getting it most of the time. If I forget, and escape, I am just out looking for my friends in the neighborhood. We are also learning to walk on a leash with a harness. Mom says I still need work because I like to pull, but it is a whole new wonderful world out there to see!
Mom says I am goofy and silly, not really knowing sense of personal space, and act very much like a puppy. But hey, I’ve never had anyone love me like my mom does, and I want to be close to her! I am house trained but may need a refresher in my new home.
I will need an owner that knows about my breed and keep my body and brain exercised and continue training. I would do best with older kids, as I can be rambunctious and exuberant with play. I am able to live with the current cat and can leave it alone.
Do you think I would be the perfect ,be by your side boy, to explore and go on adventures together? I do like to ride in the car now. Mom said something about obedience classes, that sounds like great fun.
