My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a courtesy post for a kitty in need. "April is a sweet and quiet 11-year-old fluffy cat in perfect health. She's spayed, up-to-date with all shots, and has even had dental work done within the past year and a half so her teeth should not need any more work according to her vet (Arcata Animal Hospital on Giuntoli). April has been my aunt's cat since she was a kitten, but sadly, my aunt has dementia and is moving into a care home soon and cannot take April with her. April has moved around a lot with my aunt over the past couple of years and she takes transitions remarkably well, usually hides for a bit but explores around soon after moving to a new house. I've also seen her integrate with new cats with ease. April is on the shy side and tends to bond with one person at a time; she will be your best friend if you give her some wet food in the afternoons and some comfy sleeping options where she can gaze out the window and feel the breeze. April has lived most of her life inside but relished having access to a screened-in porch in the past. April can come with cat supplies if you want them, such as two cat trees, a covered litter box (or two!), a Litter Genie, several doses of flea medication, and some food to help her transition (she's not picky about kibble, but can be picky about wet food). April is basically an unobtrusive, independent-yet-loving sleepy beauty of a kitty who deserves to live out the rest of her years with a doting new cat parent. I would keep her if I could, but alas, I'm moving into a living situation that does not allow cats."

More about this rescue

We rescue animals from high kill shelters or abandoned local strays and foster them until they find an adoptive home. Our southern branch also goes out on emergency rescue calls for cats in drain and sewer pipes, up trees, stuck in walls etc. Transport in available up and down the state of CA. We also TNR local stray and feral populations. The plight of homeless animals moves us deeply. It is unspeakably horrific to see gentle loving animals killed simply because they are homeless. While we cannot save them all, each one saved deserves it. We are a 501c3 registered, CA non-profit corporation.
