SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Charlie is a lovely dog who has come to us through our ComfortCARE program that serves families when a member is facing death or has recently passed. Charlie's mom was in hospice care at the time of his arrival to us, and we are truly honored to serve him and help him to find a home that will open its doors and heart to him. Not only is Charlie adorable, but he is super sweet, quiet and clean. Used to a quiet predictable lifestyle, we are seeking a home where he might have the same environment, possibly one with retired family. Charlie is in good health, and will be neutered and microchipped as a part of our adoption process. He is up to date with vaccines and is on heartworm prevention. We do not know whether or not Charlie has been exposed to children or other animals, but he appears to be fine with other well behaved dogs his age. We have no cats here to test him with. We are seeking a home with a loving adopter who has the ability to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with this Charlie. A home without larger pets and with a fenced, secure yard will give him room to play and potty. He will fit nicely into most homes.

Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.
