My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

RASCAL is a wriggly, derpy, gentle little guy. This dashing tuxedo boy is about 40 lbs and one and a half years old.
He is a little shy at first. But give him a few minutes and he shows his loving, even tempered, gentle nature.
He wants to please, takes treats very gently and listens well.

Rascal is learning to walk nicely on leash. He pulls a little when excited but settles down and loves his walks. Rascal is a medium energy guy. He loves a bit of play but mostly wanders the yard for sniffs and then wants to come and cuddle.

Rascal is dog friendly and non reactive with other dogs. He was kenneled with another dog at the shelter before he was rescued. He would be fine living with another dog or happy on his own with his people.

This gentle, sweet young boy is longing for a home of his own and a family to love.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer, 501c3 non profit animal rescue group working to save animals from high kill Southern California shelters such as the Camarillo shelter. We give abandoned animals a safe permanent home through networking, adoption events and transporting animals to reputable 501c3 rescues. We have a strong focus on the most at risk for death row breeds; pit bulls and chihuahas. We advocate for animal welfare, affordable spay and neuter programs and ending backyard breeding. Through community education we hope to restore the positive image of the American Pit Bull Terrier as the loving family dog it truly is. We depend completely on charitable donations to support our work. Donations are needed to cover pull fees to get animals out of the shelter, temporary boarding fees, transport and vet costs. We support the NO KILL platform and dream of the day when all shelters will be NO KILL.
