Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Benji is approximately 11-years-old and around 16 lbs. Benji found himself in a rescue in Houston alongside two fellow dogs after their human mom passed away. Following a stint in a foster home filled with other dogs in Texas, Benji made the journey to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, where he currently resides with several other canine pals.
His daily routine involves a mix of patrolling the backyard, basking in the sun, shadowing his human friends, going for a walk and indulging in restful naps indoors. Benji's gets excited when his humans return, when it's time for a walk or when it's mealtime. Benji goes for a half to 1 mile walk everyday, weather permitting.
Benji is a quick learner who already knows the magic words—his name and "outside." When Benji wants to go outside on his own be sits by the backdoor.
Benji has a mild enlargement of the heart, though without any signs of heart failure or cancer. He also has elevated liver levels. To manage his condition, he takes two prescribed medications.
Benji resides with a young child in his foster home, and allows her to pet him and share treats. Benji is housetrained and would thrive in a home with a consistent routine. He also does well when his humans aren't home, and is allowed to free roam the house.
Come nighttime, Benji finds comfort in his cozy bed within a kennel, peacefully resting throughout the entire night.
