My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Masha was surrendered to Broward County Animal Control by her owners. She was scheduled to be euthanized, and that’s when ARC decided to take her in.

She is a sweet girl. She is also very strong. At this time, she is very picky about other dogs and would not be considered safe with cats. Staff and our canine behaviorist are working with her to make her more adoption ready. Once she’s ready, she would do best in a home that is experienced with handling bigger, stronger dogs.

We’ll keep this bio updated as she improves!

More about this rescue

The Animal Refuge Center (ARC) of Fort Myers is a not for profit animal welfare society dedicated to stopping the escalating cost to impound, care for, kill and dispose of dogs and cats dying for no reason other than having been born. ARC is helping to cut the large numbers of homeless animals which eventually cuts the costs to taxpayers, which to date has reached over half a million dollars a year.

ARC is a non-euthanasia organization. Once we accept an animal for adoption, IT WILL NOT BE DESTROYED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER. We are here to help the unwanted and neglected animals who now face certain death.
