Introducing Louise!
Louise is the dog you want. You just don't know it yet! If the stress of a busy, overwhelming world is getting to you, Louise wants to be the big sister who has your back! Say you're enjoying a walk in the park and someone almost runs over you with a bike...Louise will take that bike down! Worried about creepers in your back yard?...not when Louise is on duty! Louise is not going to let anyone in without your permission. Need some fun and excitement?.... Sister Louise (and not the holy kind) is always up for bar hopping or cruising around town and helping you forget all of your troubles! Can't face leaving the house?....Sister Louise will be right there with you, curled up on the couch with you while you cry into her fur.
There's no need to face this uncertain world alone. Louise has enough confidence and care to be your perfect big sis! She gets along very well with the dogs in her foster home but has no history of living with cats. She is house trained, crate trained, knows how to use a doggie door and has nice indoor manners. She has been around kids and enjoys meeting new people at adoption events but will be more protective of her yard and home. Louise is excellent onleash, enjoys walks in the park and splashes in the creek. Louise does not enjoy bicycles and she says she's tired of being reminded of that mistake! She won't keep hounding you about that cake you couldn't resist eating last night night at 2am (but she might hound you to eat your cake).
Big Sister Louise is a middled aged, Treeing Walker Coonhound who weighs about 70-75 pounds. We adore her and are hoping someone else out there will too!

Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
