Meet Teddy, a tiny nugget of love who is looking for his forever home. Weighing in at under 6 lbs, Teddy may be small in stature, but he has a big heart. At approximately 14 years old, he's a super senior who's seeking a calm and loving retirement home.
Teddy is deaf and visually impaired, but that doesn't stop him from exploring his surroundings. He's a brave little explorer, both indoors and in the yard, and he enjoys discovering new scents and textures. Teddy's favorite pastime is taking cozy naps in a comfy bed. He's a connoisseur of comfort and appreciates a soft, warm spot to rest. At night, he prefers to sleep in his dog bed in the room with his humans, where he can feel safe and loved.
Due to a recent dental cleaning and the loss of most of his teeth, Teddy needs soft foods. He's now pain-free and has a healthy appetite, steadily gaining weight. He's a little gourmet in the making! Teddy is a resilient and easygoing companion who's not phased by much. He prefers the company of calm dogs and gentle children who will treat him with the tenderness he deserves.
He's good at going potty outside if he can find his way or is taken out regularly. He doesn't mind wearing a belly band when needed, making it easier for his human friends to ensure he stays clean and comfortable.
Teddy is a remarkable little man who has blossomed into a whole new version of himself now that he's free from pain and discomfort. He's ready to enjoy his golden years in the comfort and care of a loving retirement home. If you're looking for a tiny, sweet companion to share your life with, Teddy could be the perfect addition to your family and all you need to do to find out is complete an application here at https://lionelslegacy.org/adopt/adoption-application/

More about this rescue
Lionel's Legacy is a San Diego based senior dog rescue and elementary humane education program. We provide a last chance for senior dogs entering the shelter systems in both San Diego and Los Angeles. We solely rely on fosters to care for our seniors temporarily while looking for their furever home or as permanent hospice fosters when the need arises.
We also believe in early education as a means of preventing pet overpopulation. As a second grade teacher at Central elementary in San Diego, I see first hand the difference educating our brilliant young minds can make.
Lionel's Legacy- Saving ONE senior dog at a time and educating MANY young minds to leave a legacy of compassion and advocacy!
