Michael came to TCR in June 2023 after his owner suddenly passed away, and family was unable to care for him. Michael was previously an outdoor cat that his former owner was able to bring into the home and socialize. He is estimated to about 10 years of age, and is a BIG boy. Michael is a playful cat. He loves playing with a laser pointer, wands, and balls. He also loves any scratching posts, especially ones sprinkled with catnip. Hands down, catnip and being brushed are his favorite thing in the world (besides wet food).
Michael is always waiting at the door for someone to engage with him, and he will bypass his daily wet food to nudge you and ask for attention. Michael can sometimes get easily overstimulated after a few minutes being petted. He will either walk away to lounge nearby, or he may give a casual nip to signal he is done. For this reason, we feel that a home with small children is not likely to be appropriate for him, as small kids are not likely to understand the signs of overstimulation in cats. Michael has struggled with meeting other kitties in foster and may prefer to be the only cat in the home to live out his golden years. He would do best in a home where his adopters can monitor his diet and strive for him to reach a healthy weight.
Michael is estimated to be about 10 years old. He has been neutered, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Please apply for Michael today!

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.
Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
