Violet is a sweet and gentle 16-year-old brown tabby that was adopted from AFRP as a kitten, and returned to our care when her guardian had to move to a senior living facility. Violet is a happy, affectionate, talkative and curious cat that will be a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a mellow feline friend. She is a wonderful lap cat and enjoys being near her person. She gets along with other friendly cats and might do okay with a gentle, respectful dog. Give Violet a soft blanket and gentle petting, and she is in kitty heaven!
Violet is in good health though she does have a condition known as Chronic Feline Rhinitis. This common condition is likely due to a non-fatal virus she acquired as a kitten. This causes Violet to experience congestion, nasal discharge and sneezing.
Potential adopters can rest assured that a cat with chronic rhinitis is safe to have alongside other cats. It's similar to humans having a common cold. It's unlikely to spread to other feline companions. With proper care and management, Violet can lead a happy life alongside her furry friends without posing a risk of making them sick. Scheduling appropriate veterinary check-ups and implementing hygiene practices will help ensure a harmonious and healthy environment for everyone.

Adoption fees help to cover the cost of the care the animal has received during their time with us, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment and basic foster care.
All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
