My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Uhura! This beautiful dilute tortie was recently returned to our care when her previous owner could no longer care for her.

Uhura is a sweet and gentle girl who enjoys spending time with her people. She's a little lovebug and once she knows you loves to come to you for attention, follow you around and help out with daily chores. if you enjoy taking blurry closeups photos of a kitty face, she's definitely the girl for you!

Uhura is looking for a quiet home, where someone is there much of the time. Uhura was diagnosed with feline idiopathic cystitis (urinating outside the litter box) secondary to stress. This issue has resolved and she is using her litter box appropriately now. However, too much stress can trigger this behavior. Therefore, she'd do best with adult adopters or a family with older children.

She was the only cat in her previous home but would likely do well with other gentle cats and dogs with proper, slow introductions.

Uhura is currently at our adoptions location inside Pet Food Express. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online application has been received and approved.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees help to cover the cost of the care the animal has received during their time with us, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment and basic foster care.

All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
