Philly is a young pittie-mix with a heart of gold, a winning smile, and showstopping eyes. Also, does it look like she is wearing cowboy chaps? I digress...
Philly is, in many ways, your typical pittie! She loves to play, snuggle, and is as sweet as can be. She likes the companionship of other dogs but likes to play hard, so if you have another dog, they should be up for some WrestleMania!
Philly is a great indoor dog and would be well-suited for an apartment, but wouldn't say no to a house either ;) Philly is quiet and calm indoors. When Philly gets outside, she becomes more energetic and excited. Philly is working on her leash manners, but she is a strong gal, and her adopter will need to continue to work on her pulling while on a leash.
Philly is almost entirely potty-trained and crate-trained (huzzah!) She is still young and is working on refining some of her manners (mouthiness + leash pulling specifically). Until Philly understands her size and strength better, she will likely do best in an adult-only home for now.

In order to qualify for ALIVE’s program all of the following steps must be met:
You must be at least 24 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age.
Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided.
If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease.
All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed.
Applicant must live within 50 miles of Chicago if interested in adopting and within 10 miles of Chicago if interested in fostering.
Allow an ALIVE representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog or cat.
Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet.
Adoption Donation Amounts:
Dogs over 6 months old: $325
Dogs under 6 months old: $400
Dogs over 7 years old: $150
Rabbits: $150
Cats: $175
If you are adopting a bonded pair, the adoption donation will be as reflected above, but as a buy one, get one free.
We require a $75 training deposit at the time of adopting a dog. You will be required to enroll and complete a training class with your new dog at one of our approved training facilities within 3 months of adoption in order for the deposit to be refunded.
