My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to reintroduce everyone to Valora, a beautiful Tortie who is mature, friendly, and looking for her forever home. She is the perfect age (1 year old) - no climbing up drapes crazy energy, but playful enough to chase springs and run through tunnels.

Valora is one of 4 siblings rescued from a high-kill shelter. Foster mom is so proud of her progress. When she arrived in foster care, Valora was quite cautious of humans and hid for 3 weeks, but now she loves your attention and chin scratches. She enjoys sitting on laps and will even sleep quietly at your feet.

Valora is an independent girl, so she will come to you for her affection. She's still not too sure about being picked up, but she is definitely sure she LOVES laser lights. As soon as Mom turns one on, she comes running as fast as she can to play.

Valora will need time to adjust to any new environment. Patience, kindness, and wet food will win this girl's heart.

More about this rescue

Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, foster-based, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in Central North Carolina — incorporated in 2009 by two friends, four cats, and no budget. These two women realized the need for a "cat only" rescue that worked with rural shelters — where cats routinely lose their lives. Purr Partners was founded to save the lives of those most in jeopardy with little hope of survival. High-kill rural shelters became the focus for Purr Partners, and that is still true today. From those humble beginnings, the rescue has grown to over a hundred active volunteers and a budget of approximately $175,000. At any given time there are between 100 and 150 cats and kittens in foster care. We have saved the lives of over 3500 cats and are still growing!
