Shelby came to Famous Fido Rescue by no fault of her own. Her former guardian was affected by a car accident that left them unable to care for her. Their parents tried to provide care for Shelby, but as senior citizens, they struggled to keep up. Shelby is an energetic dog and is very intelligent. She would do well with an experienced guardian who has familiarity with the breed. She is cautious of other animals and should be the only dog. Given time to decompress, and guided by the love of a caring human, we know she will flourish into a loyal and loving companion.

Famous Fido was founded by Gloria Lissner who has been independently rescuing dogs from the death rows of kill shelters since 1975. She officially opened Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance in July 2010. All our dogs recieve the necessary vet care and treatment is never refused. Famous Fido has developed a full merchandise line, starting with our all natural dog treats to support our rescue efforts. Our products are available for purchase on our website. The mission of FFRAA is to form an alliance with similar organizations to increase community awareness, public consciences and create a No Kill Nation.
