This girl right here needs to hit the reset button on her life! Kimmie arrived in the summer of 2023 as a skinny little puppy without much confidence or training. She is as sweet as they get though, and she doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. But growing up in a shelter has caused her to do as she pleases, which is sometimes getting grabby while playing and that sort of thing. She knows how to behave perfectly well, she just needs to stay focused and be kept on the right track. Kimmie is barely 1 1/2 years old now and she underwent toe amputation surgery. She's doing great now and runs and plays like any other dog! Kimmie would do great in a home with no young kids and with an experienced family. She's good with larger dogs but needs to be integrated into her home slowly, as she hasn't had much experience playing with other dogs. Kimmie needs a home with no cats or small dogs. She's an incredibly sweet, friendly, loving, innocent girl that just needs a chance already! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org for an application. File#67022 8/5/23

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
