Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Has the monotony of daily life become so boring that you’re desperate for the chance to embrace some chaos? Or just looking to spice things up a bit? Well, have we got the toasted little loaf pan of crazy for you: Meet HACHI! This 6 year old, 27 lb Shiba Inu is one hot pepper that needs time, love, and patience before he blossoms into the savory, sweet boy inside. Poor Hachi lost his owner, then lost his home when the remaining family surrendered him to the scary, overcrowded shelter. Due to the stress of these recent events, Hachi has understandably become fearful & anxious. Hachi definitely needs time to decompress in any new home, so an adopter with similar experience or familiarity with the Shiba Inu breed is preferred.
Need an excuse to cancel plans that you don’t want to go to? Adopt Hachi, whose neediness will supply you with so many excuses that you’ll never have to leave your house again! Is that not quite restrictive enough for you? Lo and behold, he MUST also be the only dog in the household! Tired of being asked when you’re going to have a baby? Well, guess what, Hachi is not a fan of kids and really just wants to be your one and only baby. Hachi would do best in a more quiet, residential location, preferably with a fenced backyard for him to explore at his own pace. Likes: walks. Dislikes: unfamiliar dogs or humans in his space.
Don’t worry, right away Hachi does have (a few) good qualities! Hachi is fully housebroken and will alert you when he needs to relieve himself. He is also neutered, UTD on shots, and easily motivated with play.
Although adopting Hachi may seem like a huge, life-changing commitment (Spoiler Alert: It is!), he truly is such a sweet little soul, simply looking for consistency and safety, with all the loyalty and love in his heart to give as compensation. Unlocking beautiful Hachi’s heart will not be easy – but we guarantee that it will be worth it!
Please, if you have the patience, time, experience, understanding, and/or masochistic tendencies that Hachi desperately seeks in an owner, call/text inquiries to 917-689-8414 or apply at AmsterDog.org. And thank you for caring about a pet in need!
