My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Winter was born approximately May 19th,2023 and we believe she is a white German Shepherd mix. She is residing in a foster home with cats and dogs of varying ages and sizes. She finds the cats quite interesting and will chase them at times and mouth them. She responds most of the time to a stern NO and leave it-so we believe she would do fine in a home with a dog savvy cat and a person who will continue to teach her boundaries.

She is crate trained-will go to her kennel on command and does not whine at all. She is mostly potty trained with an occasional accident when her signal to go outside is missed-we are working on bell training to assure her signal is understood by all. She has pretty good recall but is distracted like a typical puppy. She learns quickly is very treat motivated and knows sit and lay down and is working on wait and leave it. She eats her food slowly and takes treats very gently.

She has a wonderfully sweet nature-playful but not over the top and can also be a very good couch potato. She has not been destructive at all and enjoys chewing on her chew toys. Her exposure to the great world has been limited due to her vaccine status. But with all of that behind her now, she’s ready to start planning for her future where she can have a family of her own that will continue her training and development and give her the amazing life she deserves.

We will give preference to an adopter with a fully fenced yard and if there are children in the home, over the age of 5 is preferred.
