Gunner is a handsome 1-1/2 year old male Shepherd mix who was surrendered by his family on October 14, 2023 because they were moving and pets weren't permitted in the new residence.
Gunner has a tan-and-black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a beautiful face with dark brown eyes, a black button nose, and extra-large erect ears.
His family told us that Gunner is good with children. Gunner has been kept indoors and is housebroken .. And he has already been neutered.
Thanks to HSOV Volunteer John Tynan for helping Gunner with his photo session late in the afternoon on October 15th. John had treated Gunner to a long walk earlier that day, so Gunner thought John was coming back for a 're-run' (a little tongue in cheek humor) ... So Gunner was a little confused when the game plan had changed and he was expected to pose for boring still-life pictures this time around. Our photographer jokingly told Gunner that he had 'cartoon ears' since he held his left ear quite erect and his right ear tended to be quasi semi-erect.
We aren't sure how Gunner feels about other dogs (especially smaller ones). Our kennel techs will be assessing Gunner's behavior with other dogs to see how he interacts with them.
Gunner is still a very large overgrown puppy and doesn't quite realize his strength. Gunner weighs 55-60 lbs and is extremely strong on a leash.
