My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet our adorable girl Perdita!! She is a petite, quiet girl who will thrive in a patient home. She loves wet food and will rub up against your legs and head-but you to show her approval! She has come SO FAR in learning to trust people, and that would only happen faster in a home that was her very own!

Perdita also enjoys playing with wand toys and the other kitties upstairs, staring out the window from a high perch and dreaming of her forever home. She is one of our longest-term residents at the shelter (sadly) and certainly deserves a home she can call her own! Please come meet her at our Cove location.

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
