My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Faya is our rock star-the crown jewel- beautiful and incredible!

She is gorgeous and ever so lovely! She has the most beautiful soft brown eyes, a striking colorful coat and the cutest flop over ears. She is hands down one of our favorites.

She is wonderful with our staff and we love her to pieces but she deserves a place to call her own-the queen of her castle! She is a relaxed dog that is searching for a home without other fur siblings or small kids. That's just not her jam and will be best set up for success with a relaxed home with just older kids and adults in it.

Faya is not in the main public section of the shelter, so be sure to ask for her by name if you come to visit her!

Thank you Francescon Portraiture for the beautiful photos of Faya.

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals in Scott County, Iowa, since 1902.

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.

The HSSC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded entirely by donations, adoption fees and a fee charged to the city and county for the care of the animals.
