Amsterdam might be cute, but we asked one of our volunteers what their favorite thing about him was and here are the key takeaways:

10/10 looks like a cow, but acts like a dog.

A+ score for cuddle-ability.

And the highest of scores for love-ability.

Amsterdam is cute, sweet, and so full of love that once you take him home, you won't understand how you lived so long without him and his cuddles.

Oh and we forgot to mention that he tends to keep a pretty clean kennel at the shelter too (at least that's what our volunteers say).

All adoptions must be done in person. Prospective adopters must meet the pet and complete the adoption application and questionnaire during the initial visit to our shelter at 2802 W Central Park Ave, Davenport, IA.

The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals in Scott County, Iowa, since 1902.

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.

The HSSC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded entirely by donations, adoption fees and a fee charged to the city and county for the care of the animals.
