My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aston Martin is literally a criminal and will steal your heart!

This 5 year old boy is about 45 lbs of pure love and joy! This teddy bear is just a love with glass brown stone eyes that lasso your soul into a dance of friendship and empathy combined. He was found as stray and has been with us since August 2023. He knows sit, is treat motivated and absolutely loves to go on walks with the volunteers and is such a sweet guy. He's a cuddle bug who will melt your heart with one look.

Aston Martin is not in the main public section of the shelter, so be sure to ask for him by name if you come to visit him!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals in Scott County, Iowa, since 1902.

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.

The HSSC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded entirely by donations, adoption fees and a fee charged to the city and county for the care of the animals.
