My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HI EVERYONE MY NAME IS DIXIE!!!! I am a 4-5 year old female mix that was found as a stray in Wickenburg. I was out exploring on my own for about 2 weeks, I have a skin condition that has left me without some fur (less fur to vacuum!) on my legs and back. It hasn't grown back in over a year, but it makes me unique and fits my funny personality. My fur is VERY soft. I have medium drive and would love to hike or go for long walks! I'm not in love with playing ball but I do love to tug! (see my video of the zoomies) I am a very good couch and bed cuddler. I prefer fewer dogs in the house, but I may get along with quieter calmer male dogs! Dixie has been through training and has great leash skills, stays, place command and loves her crate! I may not look like a traditional Border Collie, but it is in there! Dixie very rarely barks! If you adopt Dixie, she will come with additional training. 2.

Interview

We will call you about your needs

3.

Home Check

After a brief Home Check, we will match you with dogs. You will visit them at their fosters so you get a taste how they are in a home env.

Additional adoption info

We have a 3-step adoption process to make sure you find the right dog for your family.
First you fill out an application, and then you will have a phone interview to find out just what type of dog you are looking for and if you are familiar with the breed. Next you will be scheduled for a home visit to better assess your needs and the appropriate activity level and age of a potential dog adoption. Last but most important you will be scheduled to meet the Border Collies that would suit you and your family the best for a long happy life together.
