My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Philo is so fun! He loves to play. snuggle and give lots and lots of kisses! He has all the fun energy of a puppy but the manners of an adult dog. He is 100 housebroke and kennel trained. He will chew up beds if left kenneled too long but if he has a tough toy or KONG to occupy him. he will keep himselt entertained. Philo had a rough start with canine socialization so new dogs can be intimidating for him. He will have no issues adjusting to a new household with patience and time. Female dogs and less dominant dogs seem to be no issue for him at all! He also loves the resident cat and will initiate play time but is not persistent and does not chase. Philo has really learned a lot and seen a lot while being in our home. He listens incredibly well and has great manners. He does jump when excited and when he is really excited. he will accidentally headbutt vou and will play bite. With soft corrections he does areat! Philo does not tolerate loud noises very well. A home with small or rambunctious children might be overwhelming for him for a lot of reasons. We have yet to experience thunder but construction noises, horns, children yelling and playing and so many other things PhIlo does amazing in the car! He rides so qulety and comfortably you will forget nes back there! He does get excited when at the new destination but listens to a firm stav and waits to get out until told. Philo did so aood at the vet and received an A++ from all the staff. Philo is decent on a leash but will pull. harnesses work we and a pocket full of treats really keep is attention. He is very food motivated and will enjoy being rewarded with snacKs! Philo LOVES to play. Frisbee. soccer balls. tennis balls. stuffed tovs. vou name it. he'll play with it! Philo would most likely thrive in a sport home. Agility would be a breeze as well as possibly fly ball or sheep herding he did meet my livestock and showed zero chase instincts though). Philo will love every human in his life. He hasn't met a stranger yet and is truly over-ioyed with human affection. Philo has so much protentional to be the most amazing adventure companion! He is strikingly handsome, gets attention wherever he go's and will bring his human endless joy.

Additional adoption info

We have a 3-step adoption process to make sure you find the right dog for your family.
First you fill out an application, and then you will have a phone interview to find out just what type of dog you are looking for and if you are familiar with the breed. Next you will be scheduled for a home visit to better assess your needs and the appropriate activity level and age of a potential dog adoption. Last but most important you will be scheduled to meet the Border Collies that would suit you and your family the best for a long happy life together.
