AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - LUCAS
BREED - Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix
SIZE - About 10 pounds
AGE - Puppy born April, 2023
GENDER - Male
MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known
BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Lucas is a shy puppy who came to us with several others. The group appears under socialized and uncertain of how to interact with new people. They are all very sweet, but will require a patient and experienced owner to help them learn confidence and feel secure. Lucas likes other small dogs and would be suited to a home with another. Often one well behaved pet teaches the new pet how to behave simply through observation. This adorable pup will be a perfect dog when he finally gets his mojo! Lucas is unlikely to be more than 10-12 pounds when fully grown. He is a perfect size for most homes! Lucas is in good health, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an active adopter who has the ability to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with this little guy. A home without larger pets and with a fenced, secure yard will give Lucas a safe place to run and play.
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
