Hi there, I'm Squishy! My name pretty much describes me perfectly. I’m a squatty, squishy 53 lb guy who’s a big ole’ softy.
My life motto is “keep it low key.” I like low-key activities with low-key people, like taking short walks with my humans, watching the kids play and lounging around in the sun in the backyard with my favorite people. I'm always ready for a trip with my humans, whether it's a pet store, a road trip, or just a trip to the local park.
I don’t need a lot of stuff. Just give me a Nyla bone, or two, and I’ll be one happy pup! I do have a bit of a prey drive (pesky squirrels!) and would do best without any small animals around me - cats, rodents, you know the deal. I’ll need you to keep a strong hold of my leash when we’re on walks because if I see a squirrel, my doggie instincts kick in! I’m looking for a leader who understands I need structure and boundaries mixed in with fun and exercise! Kind of the perfect life combo - wouldn't you agree?
When it comes to other dogs, I'm a bit selective. I need slow intros and would do best with larger and/or older dogs who aren’t looking to rile me up. But really, I'd be perfectly content as the only dog in the house. Same goes with kids, I’d prefer kids that can respect my space and let me nap in peace. Essentially, if you have a dog friendly kiddo, I can absolutely be a kid friendly doggo!
Now, I have to admit I'm not a major cuddler. While I appreciate some pets and affection, I'd much rather spend time exploring the world with you. I'm a dog of action, always ready for the next adventure. But don't worry; I do have a soft side, too. I love my downtime, and I'm an expert napper, so we can definitely relax together after a day full of fun.
My kryptonite? Thunderstorms - hate ‘em! If you can make sure and help me stay calm (crate, cozy blanket, etc) it would be much appreciated. I actually love my crate and spend a lot of time in there because it makes me feel safe and sound.

We are a foster/volunteer based 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue in Dallas, Texas. Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless pit bull type dogs in shelters and on the streets through rescue, rehabilitation, education, and advocacy.
Our goal is to educate the public about a breed that often falls victim to breed specific legislation, discrimination, and cruelty and promote responsible pet ownership through spay/neuter initiatives, vaccinations, and training resources.
