My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kita!
Are you looking for a lively and playful companion to join your family? Look no further, because Kita is here to steal your heart with her charm and energy!
This lovely lady dog is on a journey to become her healthiest self, and she's looking for a forever home to support her along the way!
Kita is a fan of long walks and agility fun - she's always up for an adventure! She's currently working hard to shed some pounds and get in shape, so if you enjoy staying active, Kita will be the perfect workout buddy for you!
While Kita may not be a fan of cats, she's open to meeting potential canine siblings to see if they could be her new playmates. She would also thrive as an only dog, as long as she has her humans by her side to shower her with love and attention!

This smart pup is dedicated to her obedience training and is working her way to be a pro at loose leash walking, place, and stay commands! With her high food motivation, training sessions with low-calorie treats are a breeze for Kita!
Her favorite things include peanut butter Kongs, chasing flies, belly scratches, and showing off her agility skills! It's important to note that Kita has a chicken and grain allergy, but don't worry - it's easily managed with her special diet!
If you're ready to welcome this sweet and energetic girl into your home, Kita is excited to meet you and become your new best friend! Let's make Kita's dream of finding a loving forever home come true - could you be the perfect match for this wonderful pup?

More about this shelter

Animals Are Our Mission

Over 1,100 animals pass through our doors every year. Did you know that the average cost to get our animals ready to be adoptable is roughly $350 per animal? That is because we require our adoptables to be spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated before adopting out.

Population control and disease management are issues in our community that we are working hard to resolve. Your donations help ensure we can continue our mission.

We have an amazing team of hard working staff caring for our animals 7 days a week. They are supported by a group of engaged board members that are focused on bettering our organization.
