My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Pig was brought into care by his previous owner on October 22, 2023.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Pig, a seasoned feline searching for a home to match his calm disposition. Initially reserved, Pig may take a few weeks to really show his affectionate side, but once he does, watch out! This kitty thrives on companionship, whether nestled right next to you, on your lap, or sharing the bed with you for a little nap, he always wants to be near his people. While he gets along well with fellow feline friends and small animals, dogs make him a tad uneasy. Pig, a sensitive soul, tends to seek refuge in hiding spots during chaotic moments, making a tranquil home without young kids or frequent visitors ideal for him. He loves to explore and nap in cozy cubbies, has a quirky habit of exploring cabinets, and will occasionally play with toys when his napping is complete. Pig will bring love to any household ready to provide him the peaceful haven he deserves! Interested in adopting? Ask about Pig today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
