How this pet arrived:
Shadow was brought in by a community member on November 5, 2023.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Shadow, a cat of distinguished charm and mellow demeanor. Shadow entered our lives as a stray, and while he may appear a bit reserved initially, beneath that shyness lies a warm-hearted companion. Give him time, and you'll discover a friendly and social side that truly shines. Picture him in his element - comfortably snoozing in cozy beds, a contented expression on his face and making muffins. With patience and tender care, Shadow is destined to blossom into the affectionate and delightful companion he's meant to be. For his continued well-being, regular yearly vet exams are recommended for this handsome senior cat. Are you ready to open your home and heart to Shadow, providing him the comfort and companionship he so deserves? Don't hesitate - come on in and inquire about adopting him today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
