My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Calvin was brought in by his previous owner on April 10, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Calvin! Calvin came in with his best friend, Kai #899792 and they must be adopted together. Are you ready to double your dose of personality? Look no further, because Kai and Calvin are here to steal your heart! With Kai around, your home will never have a dull moment! Meanwhile, Calvin, the shy yet sweet soul, prefers the comfort of indoor coziness. He might take a little time to warm up to new faces, but once he realizes you're part of the family, he's all in! Both Kai and Calvin prefer to keep their feet firmly planted on the ground and aren't fans of being picked up or held. They do enjoy being groomed and receiving gentle chin scratches from their people. Together, these two make the perfect pair! While Kai is busy chasing lizards, Calvin is snuggled up in his favorite spot, waiting for the chance to show off his affectionate side. And when it's playtime, you better believe they're both in on the action! Whether it's batting around toys or enjoying a good brushing session, these boys know how to have a good time. Just ask an Adoption Counselor for more information!

Virtual Behavior Consult for Shy/Fearful Cats:  Calvin requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
