Meet Tunisia, our sweet and shy “sour patch kid” who’s just waiting for the right person to see the gold heart behind her nervous exterior. Tunisia has been in a foster home since November 2023—far too long for a girl who just needs a little time and love to blossom. At 48 pounds, she’s a petite pup who’s crate and potty trained, and while she may be timid at first, once she opens up, she becomes a loyal snuggle bug who adores her chosen people. She’s not unfriendly—she’s just unsure, and she needs a few gentle introductions to learn she’s safe with you.
Tunisia thrives in a home with other dogs and would benefit greatly from a confident canine companion to help her continue building trust. She plays well with her foster sibling and finds comfort in having a buddy by her side. While she’s still working on fully relaxing in a home and adjusting to time alone, her foster reports that she’s making steady progress. Tunisia does best in a calm, patient home where new people don’t overwhelm her—she’s perfectly happy hanging out in another room with a kong when visitors come by. With continued love, structure, and a bit of exercise to help curb her counter-surfing and jumping habits, Tunisia has all the makings of a devoted and affectionate best friend. She just needs someone to take it slow and show her that she’s finally home
