My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet four-year-old is the best of both worlds. When she's inside, she's the loving couch potato we all adore in an English Bulldog. But when she's outside, the more energetic and athletic traits of her breed (Olde English Bulldogge) really shine!

· If you are looking for an active, sporty version of an English Bulldog then look no further! This energetic, happy Olde English girl is all about play.
· Cali has lovely house manners, is reliably housebroken, crate trained, and only gets on furniture when given permission. She knows all the basic commands and is responsive and eager to please.
· Cali has a consistently positive attitude and is always up for the next adventure. She bonds quickly and greets everyone with full body wiggles and a great big smile.
· She loves to go on car rides and walks and is seeking an active family. A no-pull harness works well for her since she is a big (70 lbs), strong girl and can sometimes pull when something catches her interest.
· Cali loves to talk to her people with a wide range of vocalizations, from a wookie-like purr to a soft, gravelly bark. She can be demanding when wanting to play ball (her favorite pastime; she excels at ‘catch') and will woof at the ball to get your attention. Because of this, she would be best in a private home, not an apartment.
· Cali wants to be your one and only. She prefers not to share her food, toys, or people. She will ‘resource guard' food and high value toys/treats from other dogs but has shown no aggression towards humans while at BHNW. She will chase smaller animals (squirrels, birds, etc.) so a fenced yard is a must.
· She needs to work a little on her table manners. She thinks people food is for dogs, too! She is currently on a high-quality kibble to help with a very minor dry skin issue. She is also a teensy bit ‘fluffy' and could stand to lose about 5 pounds.
· Cali has very little concept of personal space, which is great if you are looking for a snuggly dog who loves to be pet.
· All in all, Cali is simply wonderful! She was surrendered from a loving home due to incompatibility with the family's young children - fast moving, loud, tiny people were just too intimidating for her. Cali is great with adults and older children ages 12 and up and is looking forward to joining her new family.
