My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our Dasher is a stunning youngster who has stolen our hearts with his infectious puppy love vibe. He would thrive in just about any active home, in which adopters have the time and inclination to provide the exercise, discipline and training that Dasher needs to live his best life. He would be great with kids, as long as his training and care can be a priority in a busy family lifestyle.

As we piece together Dasher’s back story, here is what we know. At just 6 months old, he found himself abandoned in a North Carolina Shelter. He was the last pup in an accidental litter that was not sold. Shelter staff reported that Dasher’s Sire is pure bred Doberman Pinscher, and his Dam is an all black Doberman-Husky mix. That smidge of Husky DNA gives Dasher a slight wave to his coat texture and fringe to his tail. Otherwise he has the Doberman classic coloring and good looks.

We were thrilled to have Dasher join our Connecticut Rescue, and he has blossomed beautifully here. He loves to play and enjoys other dogs. He could easily join a multi-dog home, with a well trained pack that can show him the ropes. He is an energetic, athletic dog, who requires a couple of vigorous leash walks a day, as well as focussed playtime. He would make the ideal running, walking or hiking companion. Dasher has excellent stamina and endurance, and will thrive on physical activity, as well as one to one human interaction.

Dasher has a natural affinity for obedience, and has learned some basic commands. He has passed most of his Canine Good Citizenship tests, and motivated adopters will be able to lead Dasher all the way to CGC Certification. He has good house manners and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home.

Dasher is in excellent health, and has been recently neutered. He has received routine vaccinations and health screenings, and has been cleared for adoption by our Vet.
