Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Maya Fay is a sweet, petite, senior beagle who is sure to capture your heart! She came to us from a caring shelter who wanted to see her get the best care possible because Maya Faye suffered from a vestibular incident. She's all better now but the slight head tilt and shakiness in her back end may be permanent. However, it doesn't seem to bother her at all! In true beagle fashion, she lives to sniff and explore the backyard!
She is sweet and calm and loves everyone, human, dog, big, little, young and old. She loves attention but is also happy to nap somewhere comfy. Though her teeth look good, she seems to prefer softer toys, like puppy nylabones and bison hooves, and soft treats. She's fine with kibble small bites but prefers to have a little canned food mixed in. She's easy to give in to when she looks at you with those big, dark, puppy dog eyes and that head tilt! It will warm your heart to spoil her and boy, does she deserve it!
A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Maya Fay, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other "slow to adopt" dogs!
Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
