Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hola, Amigas. My name is Jose. I’m a pointer mix who is around 2 years old and weighs 65-70 pounds. I came to Augusta Dog Adoptions from a rural pound with more dogs than adopters. Since then, I have flourished and have learned so many new things! I am kind and friendly and I would love a home with another dog for me to play with. (But no cats, please.) I do need a securely fenced yard or a home that leash walks because I'm a tall guy and I've been known to hop over a short fence!
I've been told that I'm a gorgeous guy with a beautiful personality and I believe it! I'm sure to bring love and fun to my new, forEVER family!
My new home has to understand that it may take me a few days to be comfortable, but if you give me treats and snuggles and patience I’ll come out of my shell and be your best buddy! You might even get to see my butt wiggle when I get excited!
Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
