Mau is a gorgeous brown sable purebred pedigreed Burmese. She has been with Nefertiti since she was 5 years old. They are a bonded pair and the very best forever friends.
Their owner needs to relocate abroad to her home country, so has made the difficult decision to re-home these beautiful cats. The journey abroad in the cargo hold and going through foreign customs would be way too traumatizing for these particular cats. This is what their owner says about them:
"They need to remain together. Nefertiti has had Mau in her life since she was 16 weeks old. Mau used to be a breeder and came to us within a couple of weeks of our getting Titi. Mau is gentle, very soulful, Titi is passionate, curious, and very confident. They are both very fun and loving. They have not been around animals and I wouldn't recommend that, but they have been around children, but not for a couple of years. They share a litter box and use Fresh Step unscented, changed daily. They eat Iams Perfect Portions for indoor cats (1 and a half each per day) and Iams dry food for weight and hairballs indoor - a small cup a day. They have toys and a cat stand that I'll certainly send with them. They are not on any medication."
Mau is a healthy cat weighing 8 lbs. She was a breeder for the first 5 years of her life. She has been a perfect pet and companion. Mau is a lap cat that loves to be petted, but prefers to sleep by herself. She is a very, very sweet, tentative darling cat that requires gentleness. It is best to let her come to you. She is put off by the wrong approach which is putting your hands toward her face-on. Mau doesn't trust that approach, she ducks away and goes the other direction. She is totally over the moon with her toys. Do you manicure your nails? One of Mau's favorite playthings are emory boards and nail files. She's a bit of a Diva that way.
Mau and Titi are indoor only cats that enjoy supervised time together on a cat safe enclosed deck, balcony or patio. They might enjoy having a catio to spend time in. They will do best in a quiet home, without other pets, where someone is home most of the time. We think they could do well with older respectful children that are mindful about protecting pets from escaping outdoors.
We expect Mau and Titi be very popular so if you are considering they could be yours don't hesitate to reach out to us about them. Their adoption fee is $350 for the pair.
Mau is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.
She currently lives with her owner in Oakland.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

We are a 501 (c)3 non-profit rescue group. Most of our beautiful felines come from Northern California Animal Shelters. One of our goals is to keep purebred cats from ever ending up in a shelter. We are happy to help you if you need to rehome your purebred cat. Often, we can offer advice if your cat is having behavioral problems, and you may end up keeping the cat. We do NOT ship cats. We will place cats out of area but you must arrange to come and meet your new friend in person.
