My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mia, the sweetest, most affectionate, 8-year-young, dilute calico cat. Mia has lived with her current family for 5 years and they are so sad that their home is not turning out to be the best place for Mia. They adopted her when she was 3 years old and have loved her so much. But ultimately, Mia needs to be with someone that is home all the time.

When Mia was first adopted she was almost never home alone because her current family has young kids that were not yet in school at that time. Then the pandemic hit and they were home nearly 24/7. The kids are now a bit older and at school and the adults have returned to work, and Mia is left home alone for long stretches, which makes her very anxious despite them trying everything to keep her calm. :(

Mia is great with children but she really just wants a warm lap to sit in all the time. We would love to see Mia in a home with a retired person(s) or someone who works from home and can spend time with her. That would be the most ideal set-up for her.

We are all hoping to find this girl a new family where she will be loved deeply. If you are able to open your heart and home to Mia, please contact Debbie at Jake’s Place. She can be reached at: 415-548-0824 or adoptions@jakesplacecatrescue.org.
